Responsibilities may include economic impact assessments, market and industry analysis, financial and quantitative modelling, policy research, business case development, and preparing clear presentations for senior clients and stakeholders. Candidates are generally expected to have a degree in economics, finance, business, public policy, or a related discipline, with relevant consulting, economic research, transaction, or analytical experience. The role also requires commercial awareness, attention to detail, teamwork, and the confidence to communicate complex findings to clients. Experience with Excel, statistical tools, or economic modelling is advantageous.
EY is a global professional services organization providing assurance, tax, consulting, strategy, and transactions services. Its member firms operate across more than 150 countries, helping businesses, governments, and institutions manage growth, risk, transformation, and major investments. EY-Parthenon is EY’s strategy consulting practice, advising clients on corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, portfolio management, digital strategy, and economic issues. The Economics Advisory team uses economic research, quantitative analysis, modelling, and policy expertise to help clients understand markets, assess impacts, and make informed decisions. EY’s Singapore office serves a broad regional client base across financial services, consumer products, technology, infrastructure, healthcare, and the public sector. The firm typically values collaboration, analytical thinking, integrity, inclusion, and continuous professional development.
Singapore offers strong opportunities in consulting, finance, technology, healthcare, logistics, infrastructure, and regional headquarters operations. English is widely used in business, and the workplace is international, structured, and generally fast-paced. The culture blends Chinese, Malay, Indian, and global influences, with excellent food, public transport, shopping, and diverse neighbourhoods. Housing is convenient but expensive, especially near the central business district; many professionals choose condominiums or HDB flats in areas such as Queenstown, Bishan, Tampines, or the East Coast. Singapore has a hot, humid climate throughout the year, with frequent rain. Foreign professionals typically require an Employment Pass, sponsored by their employer, while spouses may qualify for dependent or related passes. New arrivals should budget for rent, deposits, healthcare, transport, and everyday expenses. The compact city, safety, efficient services, and proximity to Southeast Asia make relocation attractive.
