Headquartered at Changi Airport, it operates an extensive passenger network across Asia, Europe, the Americas, Africa and the South Pacific, supported by regional subsidiary Scoot and various aviation-related businesses. Its workforce includes cabin crew, pilots, engineers, airport specialists, corporate professionals and technology teams. Sustainability is increasingly central to the company’s long-term planning, with attention given to fuel efficiency, emissions reduction, responsible procurement, waste management, employee wellbeing and community engagement. Singapore Airlines offers a structured corporate environment, international exposure and opportunities to work on projects connected with the future of aviation.

Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city-state with strong opportunities in aviation, logistics, finance, technology, healthcare, tourism and professional services. English is widely used at work, while Mandarin, Malay and Tamil are also official languages. The culture is multicultural, efficient and generally respectful, with a strong emphasis on punctuality, service and performance. Lifestyle options range from excellent public transport, hawker food and shopping to beaches, parks, museums and a lively international dining scene. Housing can be expensive, particularly in central areas, although public transport makes commuting from neighbouring districts practical. Foreign professionals usually need an Employment Pass or S Pass, sponsored and applied for by the employer; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications and experience. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, healthcare coverage, banking and tax registration. Singapore’s warm, humid climate and occasional heavy rain are worth preparing for.
