About the employer

Founded in 1935, it provides personal and commercial banking, wealth management, investment banking, treasury and financial services to customers across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and other markets. The bank serves individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises, large corporations and institutions through branches, digital channels and regional subsidiaries. UOB has continued investing in digital banking, data, cloud technology and cybersecurity as financial services become increasingly connected and regulated. Its workforce includes specialists in technology, risk, operations, finance and customer service. As a systemically important bank, UOB places strong emphasis on operational resilience, information protection, compliance and responsible growth. Singapore-based employees generally work in a structured, multinational environment with opportunities to collaborate across the wider ASEAN region.

Working in Singapore

Singapore offers strong opportunities in banking, cybersecurity, technology, finance, healthcare, logistics and professional services. The island is multicultural, highly connected and known for efficient public transport, reliable infrastructure and English-language business communication. Its lifestyle combines dense urban living with excellent food, shopping, parks and easy access to beaches and regional travel. Housing can be expensive, particularly in central districts, while public transport is more affordable than owning a car. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored work pass; senior banking hires commonly use the Employment Pass, subject to salary and eligibility requirements. Employers usually support relocation paperwork, although applicants should confirm pass, tax and dependent arrangements before moving. Singapore’s climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain. International schools, healthcare and public services are well developed, but family relocation costs should be budgeted carefully.
