Working in Singapore

Singapore offers strong opportunities in aviation, logistics, technology, finance, healthcare, hospitality and professional services. Its multicultural society combines Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in its languages, festivals and excellent food culture. Life is convenient and safe, with efficient public transport, modern healthcare, reliable infrastructure and many green spaces. Housing and daily expenses can be high, especially in central areas, although public transport and hawker food are relatively affordable. Employment usually requires an approved work pass. Professionals commonly use the Employment Pass or S Pass, depending on qualifications, salary and employer eligibility; the company normally applies on the candidate’s behalf. Relocating workers should arrange housing, health coverage, banking and tax registration, and review contract terms carefully. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain. Nearby Southeast Asian destinations are easily reached for leisure travel.
