Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, modern island city with strong opportunities in aviation, logistics, hospitality, finance, technology, healthcare and food services. The culture is multicultural, English is widely used at work, and professional environments are generally structured, punctual and collaborative. Living standards are high, public transport is efficient, and neighbourhoods offer varied food, shopping and recreational options. Accommodation and daily expenses can be relatively expensive, especially near the city centre. International interns should confirm whether their placement requires a Training Employment Pass, Training Work Permit or another approved work authorisation; the employer or educational institution normally supports the application. Bring valid identification, educational documents and proof of internship. Singapore has a hot, humid climate year-round, with frequent rain. New arrivals should budget carefully, secure accommodation before arrival and obtain appropriate medical and travel insurance.
