Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, well-connected island city with opportunities in aviation, logistics, hospitality, finance, technology, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing. Its multicultural society combines Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences, reflected in its food, festivals, languages, and neighbourhoods. The lifestyle is generally safe, efficient, and convenient, although housing and daily expenses can be high. Public transport is excellent, and most places are reachable by MRT or bus. Popular leisure options include hawker centres, parks, beaches, museums, shopping districts, and nearby island attractions. Foreign interns and employees should check whether their employer will arrange a Training Employment Pass, Work Holiday Pass, Employment Pass, S Pass, or another suitable permit; eligibility depends on nationality, qualifications, salary, and programme length. Arrange accommodation, insurance, banking, and medical coverage before arrival, and confirm visa details with SATS and Singapore's Ministry of Manpower.
