Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city-state with strong opportunities in banking, technology, consulting, logistics, healthcare and professional services. Its multicultural society blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, with English widely used at work and in daily life. The lifestyle is convenient and safe, although housing and private transport can be expensive. Public transport is efficient, and hawker centres provide affordable local food. Popular activities include exploring neighbourhoods such as Tiong Bahru and Katong, visiting museums, parks and beaches, and travelling around Southeast Asia. Foreign interns should confirm whether their employer will arrange a Training Employment Pass, Training Work Permit or another suitable immigration route; eligibility depends on nationality, qualifications, institution and programme details. Arrange accommodation, insurance, banking access and travel documents before arrival, and check current requirements with Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower.
