Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city-state and one of Asia’s leading financial centres. Job opportunities are strong in banking, fintech, technology, healthcare, logistics, professional services, and regional headquarters, although senior roles usually require relevant experience. The culture is multicultural, efficient, and business-oriented, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle options range from excellent public transport, shopping, food markets, and nightlife to parks, beaches, and nearby island escapes. Housing and international-school costs can be high, while public transport and healthcare are generally efficient. Foreign professionals normally need an Employment Pass, sponsored by an employer and subject to prevailing salary and qualification requirements; dependants may qualify for related passes. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, banking, insurance, tax registration, and healthcare coverage. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with heavier rain during monsoon periods.
