Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in banking, insurance, wealth management, technology, logistics, healthcare, and professional services. Its multicultural society blends Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences, reflected in its food, festivals, languages, and neighbourhoods. The lifestyle is safe, efficient, and urban, with excellent public transport, shopping, dining, parks, and easy regional travel. Housing can be expensive, especially in central areas, so many professionals rent rooms or apartments near MRT stations. Foreign professionals generally need an Employment Pass, sponsored by their employer and subject to salary and eligibility requirements; eligible dependants may apply for related passes. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, healthcare coverage, banking, and tax registration. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain, but beaches, nature reserves, and nearby islands provide outdoor options.
