Working in Singapore

Singapore offers strong opportunities in banking, fintech, technology, consulting, logistics, healthcare and regional corporate services. Its financial district is home to many international and local banks, making it particularly suitable for professionals in wholesale banking, risk, operations and compliance. The culture is multicultural, efficient and generally business-oriented, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle options range from excellent public transport, diverse food and shopping to parks, beaches and nearby regional travel. Housing can be expensive, especially in central areas, although public transport makes commuting practical from surrounding neighborhoods. Foreign professionals normally require an Employment Pass or another work authorization sponsored by an employer; approval depends on salary, qualifications and prevailing government criteria. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, healthcare coverage, banking and tax registration, and budget carefully for rent, childcare and daily expenses.
