Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in financial services, technology, professional services, healthcare, logistics and regional headquarters. Its multicultural environment blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, with English widely used at work. The lifestyle is safe and convenient, supported by excellent public transport, modern housing, diverse food and easy access to parks and beaches, although rent and daily expenses can be high. Professionals commonly live near MRT lines in areas such as Tiong Bahru, Queenstown, Bishan or the city centre. Foreign hires generally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, subject to salary, qualifications and government assessment; dependants may qualify for related passes. New arrivals should arrange housing, health insurance, banking and tax registration, and check Ministry of Manpower rules before relocating. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
