The Plumber is responsible for installing, inspecting, repairing and maintaining plumbing, drainage, water-supply and related mechanical systems throughout The Westin Fiji Golf Resort & Spa. Candidates should have relevant plumbing training or trade certification, practical experience in hotel, commercial or building maintenance, and a sound understanding of pumps, pipes, fixtures and water-heating systems. The role requires strong troubleshooting ability, safe work practices, good communication and the flexibility to respond to maintenance requests, including occasional weekends or shifts. The successful candidate is expected to work neatly, follow Marriott and resort safety standards, support preventive-maintenance programs and deliver prompt, guest-focused service.
The Westin Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is a luxury beachfront resort on Denarau Island, Fiji, operated under Marriott International’s Westin brand. The resort combines accommodation, dining, wellness facilities, recreation and access to golf and island activities. Westin properties focus on guest wellbeing through the brand’s sleep, fitness, nutrition and nature-inspired programs, while maintaining high international service standards. As part of Marriott International, the resort offers employees exposure to a global hospitality organization, structured operating procedures and potential career development across hotels and countries. Engineering team members help keep guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, pools, water systems and resort infrastructure safe, functional and comfortable in Fiji’s tropical coastal environment.
Fiji offers hospitality, engineering, construction, tourism, marine recreation and healthcare opportunities, particularly around Nadi, Denarau, Suva and the Coral Coast. Fijian culture values community, respect, family and welcoming visitors; English is widely used, alongside iTaukei and Fiji Hindi. Life is generally relaxed, outdoor-oriented and shaped by warm weather, beaches, village traditions and water activities, although imported goods and housing near resorts can be expensive. Overseas workers normally need an employer-supported work permit before starting employment, and requirements can include a valid passport, qualifications, police clearance, medical checks and proof of a genuine job offer. Confirm current rules with Fiji Immigration and the employer. Relocation packages vary, so ask about accommodation, meals, transport, flights, insurance, tax and contract length before accepting an offer.
