Destination Guide

Fiji offers hospitality, tourism, engineering, construction, healthcare, education and marine-related job opportunities, especially around Nadi, Denarau, Suva and the Coral Coast. Fijian culture values community, respect, family and hospitality. English is widely used, alongside iTaukei and Fiji Hindi, and village visits require appropriate dress and respectful behavior. Island life is relaxed, with warm weather, beaches, water sports, outdoor activities and a generally friendly atmosphere. Living costs can be high for imported goods, particularly on resort islands, while local food and transport may be more affordable. Foreign workers usually need an employer-sponsored work permit before starting employment; requirements can include a contract, qualifications, medical checks and police clearance. Candidates should confirm visa, housing, flights, tax and healthcare arrangements with the employer before relocating. Nadi provides the main international airport and useful access to shops, services and transport.
