Destination Guide

Fiji offers hospitality, tourism, engineering, construction, marine, healthcare, education and retail opportunities, particularly around Nadi, Denarau, Lautoka and Suva. Fijian culture is warm and community-oriented, with strong iTaukei traditions, Indo-Fijian influences, welcoming village customs and popular foods such as lovo, kokoda and curry. Island life is relaxed, with beaches, diving, hiking and water activities, although imported goods and transport can be expensive outside major areas. Foreign workers generally need an approved employment permit before starting work; the employer usually supports the application, and requirements may include a contract, qualifications, health checks and police clearance. Relocating to resort areas may involve arranging accommodation, transport, banking and health insurance. Candidates should confirm visa conditions, salary, housing and travel benefits directly with Marriott before accepting an offer.
