Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city with opportunities across hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare and education. Hotels and restaurants regularly recruit experienced supervisors, chefs, service professionals and managers, particularly candidates with strong English and international experience. The culture is multicultural, efficient and generally respectful of punctuality, service standards and workplace professionalism. Public transport is excellent, while housing, dining and childcare can be expensive; many newcomers initially choose shared accommodation or employer-supported housing. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid throughout the year, with frequent rain. Foreign employees normally require an approved work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and occupation. Employers usually submit the application, and candidates should confirm eligibility before relocating. Medical checks, document verification and budgeting for deposits are also advisable.
