Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in banking, fintech, technology, data science, healthcare, logistics, and professional services. English is widely used at work, while Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil are also official languages. The culture is multicultural, orderly, and generally fast-paced, with excellent public transport, reliable digital services, diverse food, and high personal safety. Housing and private healthcare can be expensive, although public transport is affordable and efficient. Professionals usually need an Employment Pass, sponsored by an eligible employer; approval depends on salary, qualifications, experience, and current government criteria. Spouses and children may qualify for dependant passes. Before relocating, candidates should compare housing locations, school options, taxes, insurance, and commuting times. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain. OCBC employees may also find opportunities to work with regional teams across Asia.
