Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in banking, technology, logistics, healthcare, engineering, education and professional services. Its multicultural society blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in its food, festivals and languages. Public transport is efficient, housing and dining range from affordable to premium, and the climate is hot and humid year-round with frequent rain. Employment Pass or S Pass eligibility depends on salary, qualifications, experience and the employer’s application; short-term contract roles should confirm sponsorship before accepting. New arrivals typically arrange accommodation, a local bank account, mobile service and health insurance. Central areas are convenient but expensive, while neighbourhoods farther from the business district often provide better value. Singapore is generally safe, orderly and well suited to professionals seeking an urban Asian lifestyle.
