Destination Guide

Singapore offers strong opportunities in banking, fintech, asset management, technology, consulting, logistics and regional headquarters, although competition for graduate and internship roles is high. Workplace culture is generally professional, structured and multicultural, with emphasis on punctuality, teamwork and performance. The lifestyle is convenient and safe, with excellent public transport, diverse food, modern amenities, parks and easy access to neighbouring countries. Housing is expensive, especially near the central business district; shared apartments or rooms are common for interns. Foreign students and professionals should confirm eligibility before accepting work. Internships typically require an employer-sponsored Training Employment Pass or another appropriate Ministry of Manpower-approved pass, while full-time hires commonly need an Employment Pass or S Pass. Requirements, salary thresholds and eligibility can change, so applicants should check official government guidance and allow time for employer-sponsored applications. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
