Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in banking, fintech, technology, logistics, healthcare, and professional services. English is widely used at work, while the culture is multicultural, efficient, and generally business-oriented. Public transport is reliable, and most neighbourhoods offer convenient access to shops, food centres, parks, and amenities. Living costs, especially rent, can be high, although interns may reduce expenses by sharing accommodation and using public transport. Foreign interns must hold the appropriate work authorisation, commonly arranged through the employer under Singapore’s relevant training or work-pass rules; eligibility depends on nationality, institution, salary, and programme details. Candidates should confirm requirements with OCBC and Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower before relocating. Singapore is warm and humid year-round, with frequent rain, so light clothing and an umbrella are useful.
