This internship supports OCBC’s Group Operations & Technology and Group Engineering teams in improving loan-origination systems and processes. Candidates are generally expected to be undergraduates in computer science, information technology, engineering, business technology, or a related discipline, with an interest in banking technology. Familiarity with software development, databases, data analysis, process improvement, or project coordination is useful. The successful intern should be analytical, organised, curious, and comfortable working with business and technology stakeholders. Good communication skills, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to learn quickly are important. The placement runs from January to May 2026 in Singapore.
OCBC Bank is one of Southeast Asia’s largest financial institutions and Singapore’s longest-established bank. Headquartered in Singapore, it provides consumer, business, corporate, private banking, wealth management, insurance, and treasury services across key Asian markets. OCBC operates through a broad regional network covering Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Greater China, and other international locations. The bank has invested heavily in digital banking, data, automation, cybersecurity, and technology-enabled customer experiences. Its Group Operations & Technology teams support the systems, processes, and infrastructure that underpin banking services, including lending and loan origination. OCBC is also recognised for its structured graduate and internship opportunities, giving students exposure to financial services, technology delivery, process transformation, and cross-functional collaboration in a regulated banking environment.
Singapore offers strong opportunities in banking, fintech, technology, engineering, consulting, logistics, and multinational companies. The workplace is generally professional, multicultural, English-speaking, and fast-paced, with respect for punctuality, hierarchy, and teamwork. Lifestyle is convenient and urban: public transport is extensive, healthcare is reliable, food options are diverse, and attractions range from nature reserves to museums and beaches. Housing can be expensive, particularly near the central business district, so many interns choose shared accommodation near MRT lines. International students and interns should confirm whether their employer arranges a Training Employment Pass, Training Work Permit, or another appropriate pass; eligibility depends on nationality, institution, programme, and salary. Employment-pass rules can change, so check the Ministry of Manpower’s current guidance and arrange insurance, accommodation, and travel documents before arrival.
