Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island with strong opportunities in banking, fintech, technology, logistics, healthcare, professional services and regional headquarters functions. Its culture is multicultural and business-oriented, with English widely used at work alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Lifestyle options range from modern shopping districts and international dining to nature parks, beaches and nearby islands. Public transport is efficient, while housing and daily expenses can be relatively high, especially in central areas. Foreign professionals typically require an Employment Pass, sponsored by an eligible employer and subject to salary and qualification criteria; other passes apply to different skill levels and family circumstances. Relocating workers should arrange housing, healthcare coverage, banking access and tax registration. Singapore has a warm, humid climate year-round, with frequent rain, and offers a safe environment and convenient access to the wider Asia-Pacific region.
