Founded in 1935, the bank provides personal and commercial banking, private banking, investment banking, treasury, asset management, and wealth management services. UOB serves individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises, large corporations, and institutional clients. Following its acquisition of Citigroup’s consumer businesses in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, the group has strengthened its regional consumer-banking presence. The bank places strong emphasis on responsible growth, sound risk management, digital transformation, and long-term customer relationships. Its Singapore operations are centred in the city’s main financial district and offer opportunities across risk, technology, operations, finance, compliance, relationship management, and banking product functions.

Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island and a leading Asian financial centre, with opportunities in banking, fintech, technology, healthcare, logistics, education, and professional services. Workplace culture is generally structured, performance-oriented, multicultural, and respectful of hierarchy, although international teams are common and English is the main business language. Public transport is efficient, housing and dining vary greatly by location and budget, and the lifestyle is convenient, safe, and urban, with parks, beaches, shopping, and diverse food. Foreign professionals usually need an employer-sponsored work pass; managers and specialists commonly use the Employment Pass, subject to salary, qualifications, and prevailing eligibility rules. Relocating employees should arrange housing, healthcare coverage, banking, tax registration, and dependent passes where applicable. Rental costs can be substantial, especially near the central business district, so suburban areas may offer better value.
