Destination Guide

Singapore offers strong opportunities in banking, treasury, fintech, technology, consulting, logistics, healthcare and regional headquarters operations. The culture is multicultural, professional and generally punctual, with English widely used in business and daily life. Lifestyle is convenient and safe, although housing and private education can be expensive. Public transport is efficient, food options are exceptionally diverse, and residents enjoy easy access to parks, beaches and nearby Asian destinations. Foreign professionals normally need an employment pass sponsored by an employer; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications, experience and the role’s assessment under current government rules. Employers usually assist with applications, while dependants may qualify for related passes subject to requirements. New arrivals should budget carefully for rent, deposits, healthcare, transport and schooling. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain, so suitable clothing and housing with good air-conditioning are important.
