Company Info

UOB, or United Overseas Bank, is a major Singapore-headquartered banking group with operations across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and other regional markets. Founded in 1935, the bank provides personal and commercial banking, wealth management, corporate finance, treasury, investment banking and capital-markets services. UOB serves individuals, businesses, institutions and governments through a combination of physical branches and digital channels. Following its acquisition of Citigroup’s consumer businesses in several ASEAN markets, UOB has strengthened its regional retail and wealth-management footprint. The bank is known for its focus on Southeast Asia, relationship-led banking and support for regional corporations and investors. Its Corporate Investment Unit works with the bank’s broader investment and strategic initiatives, making analytical, market knowledge and disciplined investment judgement particularly relevant for this position.

Destination Guide

Singapore offers strong opportunities in banking, investment management, fintech, technology, healthcare, logistics and professional services. Its financial district is concentrated around Marina Bay and the CBD, while major business parks include one-north and Changi Business Park. The culture is multicultural, orderly and fast-paced, with English widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle options range from excellent public transport, hawker food and shopping to beaches, parks and nearby Southeast Asian travel. Housing can be expensive, especially in central areas, so many newcomers consider locations near MRT lines outside the CBD. Foreign professionals generally require an Employment Pass, sponsored by their employer and subject to salary and eligibility requirements; families may qualify for dependent passes. Relocation costs, rental deposits, healthcare and schooling should be planned carefully. Singapore is compact, safe and convenient, although its tropical climate and high living costs may require adjustment.
