Destination Guide

Bermuda offers employment opportunities in hospitality, tourism, restaurants, retail, finance, insurance, construction, healthcare, education, and professional services. Its culture blends British, Caribbean, African, Portuguese, and international influences, with strong traditions in music, food, sailing, cricket, and community events. The lifestyle is safe, outdoors-oriented, and relatively relaxed, with beautiful beaches, clear water, and a mild subtropical climate. Housing and everyday expenses are high, so candidates should confirm accommodation, transportation, salary, and benefits before relocating. Most residents use scooters, bicycles, buses, or ferries because visitors generally cannot rent cars. Foreign nationals normally need employer sponsorship and a Bermuda work permit before starting employment; permits are tied to the specific role and employer. Employers typically handle or support the application, but requirements can include qualifications, references, medical checks, and police certificates. Candidates should verify current immigration rules with Bermuda’s Department of Immigration and arrange health insurance and suitable accommodation.
