Destination Guide

Bermuda offers hospitality, tourism, finance, healthcare, education, construction and marine-related employment, although most overseas workers need an employer-sponsored work permit before arrival. Employers generally demonstrate that a suitable Bermudian candidate is not available, so applications should be made with the sponsoring company and immigration requirements confirmed in advance. Bermuda's culture blends British, Caribbean, African and international influences, with emphasis on courtesy, community and conservation. The lifestyle is attractive, safe and outdoors-oriented, featuring beaches, boating, diving, golf and a mild climate. Living costs, rent and groceries are high, and accommodation can be limited, so candidates should clarify housing, transport, health insurance, flights and relocation support. English is the main language. Public transport is reliable, but visitors and residents generally use buses, ferries, taxis or scooters rather than private rental cars.
