Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare and international business. Luxury hotels regularly recruit professionals in sales, events, food and beverage, rooms, spa and management, although competition is high and employers generally prefer relevant experience. Singapore’s culture is multicultural, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. The lifestyle is safe, efficient and highly connected, offering excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, beaches and cultural attractions, though housing and daily expenses can be substantial. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass or S Pass, subject to salary, qualifications and government approval. Candidates should secure a written offer before relocating, check pass eligibility and budget for accommodation, insurance, transport and deposits. Sentosa is well connected to central Singapore by road, rail and public transport.
