The Research Fellow will conduct research on gesture and sign linguistics using computational linguistics methods. Typical requirements include a PhD or equivalent research experience in linguistics, computational linguistics, language technology, computer science, or a related field; strong academic writing and analytical skills; and experience with programming, corpus development, machine learning, or language data analysis. Familiarity with sign languages, multimodal communication, gesture analysis, or relevant annotation tools is advantageous. The successful candidate is expected to work independently and collaboratively, design and evaluate research methods, publish results in academic venues, support project reporting, and contribute to presentations, grant-related work, and other research activities.
