Destination Guide

Singapore offers strong employment opportunities in education, technology, finance, healthcare, logistics, research, hospitality and professional services. The culture is multicultural, organised and generally fast-paced, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle benefits include excellent public transport, reliable infrastructure, diverse food, shopping, beaches and easy access to Southeast Asia. Housing is expensive, especially near the city centre, so many newcomers consider shared apartments, condominiums farther from central districts or public HDB rental options where eligible. Employment usually requires an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications and prevailing government rules. Bring verified academic and employment documents, budget for deposits and healthcare, and confirm pass approval before relocating. NTU’s campus is well connected by public transport, though commuting time should be considered when choosing accommodation.
