Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island with opportunities in consulting, technology, finance, healthcare, logistics and regional headquarters. Its multicultural society blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in languages, festivals and excellent food. The lifestyle is convenient and generally safe, with efficient public transport, modern amenities, beaches and green spaces, although housing and daily expenses can be high. Professionals often live near MRT lines in areas such as the Central Region, East Coast, Queenstown or the west. Foreign employees usually need an employer-sponsored work pass; the Employment Pass is commonly used for professional roles, subject to salary and qualification requirements, while other passes may apply to different salary levels. Relocating typically involves securing the job and pass first, arranging housing, insurance and banking, and bringing certified educational and employment documents. Singapore’s warm, humid climate makes lightweight clothing and reliable air-conditioning especially useful.
