Emirates is the international airline of the United Arab Emirates and one of the world's best-known long-haul carriers. Based in Dubai, it operates a large wide-body fleet, including Airbus and Boeing aircraft, and connects the Middle East with destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Australasia. The airline is part of the Emirates Group, which includes aviation, travel, tourism and airport-related businesses. Emirates is recognised for its substantial investment in aircraft, onboard service, pilot development, safety and operational training. Employees may receive competitive tax-free salaries, medical cover, annual leave, travel benefits and relocation support, depending on their role and contract. Working for Emirates offers exposure to a highly international aviation environment, structured procedures and a multicultural workforce, although roles can involve demanding schedules and high performance expectations.
The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it is a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest concentration of aviation and professional opportunities. Jobs are available in airlines, airports, tourism, logistics, engineering, technology, finance and hospitality. UAE society combines Islamic traditions with a highly international lifestyle; modest dress and respect for local customs are appreciated, while English is widely used. Residents enjoy modern housing, shopping, restaurants, beaches and desert activities, though summer heat is intense and living costs can be high. Expatriates normally require employer sponsorship and a residence visa, usually arranged after accepting a job. The process commonly includes medical screening, Emirates ID registration and document attestation. New arrivals should budget for accommodation, transport, deposits and school fees if relocating with family. Dubai is cosmopolitan and busy; Abu Dhabi is generally quieter, spacious and family-oriented.
