Typical duties include changing linens, replenishing amenities, vacuuming, dusting, removing waste, reporting maintenance issues, and respecting guest privacy. Candidates should be dependable, physically able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and push housekeeping equipment for extended periods. Flexibility to work casual or variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, mornings, and busy resort periods, is important. Employees must follow safety, hygiene, security, and company procedures.

Senior staff often get more than line staff, for example a single room or a yearly home flight. Ask the employer what the job includes before you accept.
How it works: No ordinary visa for hotel jobs; a J-1 traineeship of up to 12 months is the realistic route.
Never pay anyone for a visa or a job offer. A real employer pays the permit costs and never asks you for money.
