The Help Cook supports the kitchen team with basic food preparation, ingredient washing and cutting, maintaining clean work areas, storing supplies correctly, and following recipes and food-safety procedures. Candidates are expected to have some kitchen or hospitality experience, although training may be provided for entry-level applicants. Reliability, teamwork, good personal hygiene, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods are important. The role requires flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays, along with a professional attitude and respect for Mandarin Oriental’s service standards. Spanish or English communication skills are useful, while knowledge of HACCP principles and safe kitchen practices is an advantage.
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is an international luxury hospitality company known for highly personalised service, refined design and strong attention to local culture. The group operates hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas. Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra is associated with the group’s luxury presence in Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, and is located near Costa d’en Blanes in the southwest of the island. Its hospitality operations include accommodation, restaurants, bars, guest services and culinary facilities, creating opportunities across front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, engineering and support departments. Employees are generally expected to demonstrate discretion, teamwork, polished presentation and a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction. Exact benefits, accommodation arrangements and employment conditions depend on the contract and should be confirmed directly with the employer.
Usual for the Balearic Islands, varies by employer. Checked November 2026.
Senior staff often get more than line staff, for example a single room or a yearly home flight. Ask the employer what the job includes before you accept.
How it works: Local-first test (hotel jobs are not on the shortage list), or a seasonal permit that comes with employer housing.
Never pay anyone for a visa or a job offer. A real employer pays the permit costs and never asks you for money.
Official source: Spanish Ministry of Inclusion: residence and work permit for employees. Checked November 2026.
