About the employer

EY, formerly Ernst & Young, is one of the world’s largest professional-services organisations, operating across assurance, consulting, strategy, tax and transactions. Its consulting practice helps organisations modernise technology, improve operations and manage complex business change. EY’s AI and Data teams support clients with data strategy, cloud transformation, analytics, machine learning, generative AI and responsible technology adoption. The firm works with businesses and public-sector organisations across industries, combining industry knowledge with technology and advisory expertise. EY has a substantial presence in Ireland, including offices in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Belfast, and is known for structured career development, professional training and international opportunities. Senior managers generally lead client engagements, develop trusted relationships, manage delivery teams and contribute to growth through proposals and new opportunities.

Working in Ireland

Ireland offers strong opportunities in technology consulting, software, cloud, data, cybersecurity, pharmaceuticals, financial services and multinational operations, particularly in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick. The culture is generally friendly, conversational and community-oriented, with a strong social life centred on pubs, music, sport and festivals. Ireland provides good access to coastline, countryside and outdoor activities, although housing costs and availability—especially in Dublin—can be challenging. Public transport is improving, while car ownership is more useful outside major cities. EEA and Swiss citizens can generally live and work without a visa. Non-EEA candidates normally need an employment permit, with eligibility depending on the occupation, salary and employer; senior technology roles may qualify under skilled-worker routes. Candidates should secure a written offer, check permit requirements and budget carefully for accommodation, healthcare, transport and relocation expenses.
