EY is a global professional-services organisation providing assurance, consulting, strategy, tax and transaction services. Its consulting practice helps organisations improve performance, manage risk and adopt new technologies. EY’s Technology Consulting business works with clients on cloud transformation, enterprise platforms, cybersecurity, data, artificial intelligence and technology strategy. In Ireland, EY has a significant presence in Dublin and other locations, serving public-sector bodies and companies across financial services, technology, consumer products, healthcare and industrial markets. The firm combines international resources with local market knowledge and typically offers structured career development, professional training and opportunities to work on large transformation programmes. The culture generally emphasises collaboration, client service, continuous learning and inclusive working practices, although workloads can be demanding, particularly during major engagements and proposal periods.
Ireland offers strong opportunities in technology consulting, software, financial services, pharmaceuticals, data, cybersecurity and multinational operations, with Dublin as the main employment hub. Cork, Galway and Limerick also have growing technology and life-sciences sectors. Irish workplace culture is generally collaborative, conversational and relationship-oriented, with English as the main business language. The lifestyle combines lively towns, outdoor activities, music, sport and easy access to scenic coastal and rural areas. Housing, especially in Dublin, is expensive and competitive, so relocation planning is important. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work without an employment permit. Non-EEA nationals usually need an employment permit and, depending on nationality and stay length, an immigration visa. Highly skilled technology professionals may qualify for a Critical Skills Employment Permit, subject to occupation and salary requirements. Applicants should confirm current rules with Ireland’s immigration authorities before moving.
