About the employer

EY, formerly Ernst & Young, is a global professional services organisation providing assurance, tax, strategy, transactions, and consulting services. Its consulting practice helps public- and private-sector clients improve business performance, modernise technology, manage risk, and deliver large-scale transformation programmes. EY operates across many countries and serves clients in industries including financial services, healthcare, government, consumer products, and technology. In Ireland, EY has a significant presence in Dublin and other locations, with teams working across audit, consulting, tax, transactions, and specialist advisory services. The company promotes learning, professional development, diverse teams, and opportunities to work on international client engagements. Technology consultants at EY commonly support cloud adoption, enterprise platforms, cybersecurity, data, software delivery, testing, and digital transformation initiatives.

Working in Ireland

Ireland offers strong opportunities in technology consulting, software, financial services, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, cybersecurity, and multinational operations, particularly in Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Limerick. The culture is generally friendly, sociable, and informal, with a strong emphasis on community, conversation, music, and sport. Dublin provides the widest employment market but has high housing costs and competitive rental demand. Other cities may offer a quieter lifestyle and lower costs, although opportunities can be more specialised. Ireland has excellent access to countryside, coastal areas, and outdoor activities, with a mild but changeable climate. EU, EEA, and Swiss nationals can work without an employment visa. Most other applicants need an employment permit, commonly a Critical Skills Employment Permit for eligible technology roles, followed by immigration registration. Candidates should secure an offer, check permit eligibility, and research housing and healthcare before relocating.
