About the employer

Grab is a Southeast Asian technology company founded in 2012 and headquartered in Singapore. It operates a broad digital platform serving consumers, driver-partners, delivery partners and merchants across countries including Indonesia. Its services commonly include ride-hailing, food and parcel delivery, digital payments, financial services and merchant solutions. In Indonesia, Grab has a substantial operational presence and works with a large partner network across major cities and regions. The company’s workforce includes technology, product, operations, commercial, finance, safety and corporate functions. Grab promotes a fast-moving, collaborative environment focused on technology, inclusion, customer experience and responsible growth. An occupational health, safety and wellbeing intern may work with people operations, local operations and compliance stakeholders to help strengthen safe working practices for employees and partners.

Working in Indonesia

Indonesia is an archipelago, so relocation depends heavily on the assigned city. Jakarta, on Java, is the main corporate and technology hub, with the widest range of internships and professional opportunities, but it is busy, humid and affected by traffic. Bali offers hospitality, tourism, digital and creative work, with a more relaxed lifestyle, although living costs in popular areas can be high. Surabaya, Bandung and Medan provide growing opportunities in business, operations, manufacturing and logistics. Indonesian workplace culture generally values respect, teamwork, hierarchy and relationship-building. Costs vary significantly between islands; accommodation, transport and healthcare should be researched before moving. Foreign nationals normally need an appropriate sponsored work visa or stay permit, and internships may require a specific immigration arrangement. Confirm eligibility, sponsorship and local registration with Grab and Indonesian authorities before travel. Learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is highly recommended.
