The Country Controller Associate supports Grab Indonesia’s financial-control and reporting activities. Typical requirements include a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; experience in financial reporting, controllership, audit, or accounting; strong Excel and analytical skills; and familiarity with Indonesian accounting standards, tax, and internal controls. Candidates are expected to maintain accurate books and records, support month-end and year-end closing, investigate variances, prepare management reports, assist with audits, and improve finance processes. Attention to detail, integrity, sound judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work with regional and cross-functional teams are important. Experience with ERP systems, shared-services environments, or technology and platform businesses is advantageous.
Grab is a Southeast Asian technology company headquartered in Singapore, operating across mobility, deliveries, and digital financial services. Its platform connects consumers with drivers, delivery partners, merchants, and financial-service providers in markets including Indonesia. In Indonesia, Grab offers ride-hailing, food and package delivery, merchant solutions, payments, lending, and other digitally enabled services. The business combines a large consumer platform with extensive operational, regulatory, and partner networks. Employees commonly work in a fast-moving, data-oriented environment that involves regional collaboration and continuous process improvement. Grab promotes technology-led inclusion and aims to make everyday services more accessible while supporting economic opportunities for drivers, merchants, and small businesses. A country-controller role would contribute to financial accuracy, governance, compliance, and decision support as the Indonesian business grows.
Indonesia offers varied career opportunities across its major islands. Java, especially Jakarta, is the main hub for technology, finance, consulting, headquarters, and multinational jobs; Bandung and Surabaya also have strong startup, manufacturing, and service sectors. Bali is attractive for tourism, hospitality, wellness, creative work, and remote professionals, while Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi offer opportunities in logistics, commodities, energy, agriculture, and regional operations. Indonesian culture values community, respect, and relationship-building, with significant regional and religious diversity. Lifestyle ranges from busy metropolitan living to slower coastal or rural environments. Foreign employees generally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work visa or stay permit; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Relocation planning should cover housing, health insurance, tax registration, local transport, and Bahasa Indonesia basics.
