The Transport Business Partner supports DHL’s transport operations by working with internal teams, carriers and customers to improve service, cost, compliance and delivery performance. Typical requirements include experience in transport, fleet, freight or logistics operations; knowledge of Australian transport regulations; strong analytical and commercial skills; and the ability to manage supplier and stakeholder relationships. Candidates are expected to identify efficiency improvements, monitor key performance indicators, resolve operational issues, support procurement or contract discussions, and communicate clearly across multiple teams. Experience with transport management systems, reporting tools, budgeting and continuous-improvement methods is advantageous. A relevant qualification in logistics, supply chain, business or a related field may also be preferred.
DHL is a global logistics and supply chain company operating across more than 220 countries and territories. Its businesses cover express delivery, freight forwarding, contract logistics, supply chain management, e-commerce and international mail. In Australia, DHL supports organisations across industries including retail, healthcare, technology, manufacturing and automotive. The company manages transport networks, warehouses, customs services and specialist logistics solutions, with a strong focus on reliability, security and customer service. DHL also places significant emphasis on sustainability, digitalisation, workplace safety and developing its people. A Transport Business Partner would typically work within this broader network, helping align transport suppliers and operational teams with customer requirements, service targets and commercial objectives.
Australia is a large island country with job opportunities concentrated in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and regional logistics hubs. Transport, warehousing, freight forwarding, construction, healthcare, technology and professional services regularly recruit skilled workers. Australian workplaces are generally informal, collaborative and focused on safety, punctuality and clear communication. Lifestyle varies from busy city living to quieter coastal or regional communities, with excellent beaches, outdoor activities and a high standard of living. Rent and living costs can be high in major cities, particularly Sydney and Melbourne. Most overseas workers need a visa, such as an employer-sponsored Skills in Demand visa, skilled migration visa or eligible working-holiday visa. Applicants should check current requirements through the Department of Home Affairs and arrange health insurance, accommodation, tax registration and, where relevant, a driver’s licence before relocating.
