Working in Seychelles

Seychelles offers employment opportunities mainly in luxury hotels and resorts, restaurants, tourism, marine activities, aviation, healthcare, construction, finance and public services. The culture blends African, European and Asian influences, with Seychellois Creole widely spoken alongside English and French. Island life is relaxed and outdoors-oriented, with beautiful beaches, hiking, diving and boating, although imported goods and accommodation can be expensive. Most expatriate roles are based on Mahé, Praslin or La Digue and may include staff housing, meals, transport and flights. Foreign nationals generally need an approved Gainful Occupation Permit (GOP) before working; employers usually sponsor the application and provide supporting documents. A medical examination, passport validity and proof of qualifications may be required. Relocating employees should confirm housing, insurance, tax, work-permit and dependent arrangements before accepting an offer.
