The successful candidate should have good attention to detail, physical stamina, a reliable and professional manner, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. ibis Newcastle is part of Accor, a major international hospitality group operating hotels, resorts and serviced residences across many countries. The ibis brand is known for practical, comfortable accommodation, friendly service and good-value stays for business and leisure travellers. Located in Newcastle, New South Wales, the hotel serves visitors exploring the city, beaches, harbour and surrounding Hunter region. Accor places emphasis on guest satisfaction, teamwork, inclusion, professional development and responsible hospitality. Employees may benefit from structured training, internal career opportunities and staff benefits, including potential discounts across participating Accor properties. In this role, the room attendant contributes directly to the guest experience by ensuring rooms are clean, comfortable, safe and ready on time.
Australia is a large island country with opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, healthcare, construction, agriculture and skilled trades. Newcastle offers a relaxed coastal lifestyle, beaches, outdoor activities, cafes and relatively easy access to Sydney, while living costs are generally lower than in central Sydney. Australian workplaces value punctuality, safety, direct communication, teamwork and respect for diversity. Hospitality jobs commonly involve early starts, weekends and seasonal demand. Foreign workers must hold a visa with suitable work rights; options may include a Working Holiday visa, employer-sponsored visa or another eligible temporary or permanent pathway. Check current requirements with the Australian Department of Home Affairs before travelling. Relocating usually requires a tax file number, Australian bank account, accommodation and health insurance. Public transport is useful in Newcastle, but a car can help for wider regional travel.
