Working in Philippines

The Philippines is an archipelago with strong employment opportunities in hospitality, tourism, business services, engineering, retail, healthcare, and information technology. Metro Manila, including Makati, offers the widest range of corporate and hotel jobs, while Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, and other resort destinations provide seasonal and long-term tourism work. Filipino culture is generally warm, community-oriented, respectful, and English-friendly. Life in Makati is convenient and international, with restaurants, shopping malls, public transport, and active nightlife, although traffic and humidity can be challenging. Foreign nationals normally need an appropriate visa or work permit arranged with employer support; internships may require specific immigration approval depending on nationality and program structure. Relocating candidates should budget for accommodation, transport, health insurance, and document processing. Checking current rules with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration or an embassy is essential before travel.
