Working in Philippines

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Metro Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Bohol and other tourism destinations. Jobs are available in hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruises, events, travel companies and wellness businesses, with English widely used in the workplace. Filipino culture is warm, family-oriented and generally welcoming, while teamwork and respectful communication are highly valued. Lifestyle costs vary: Metro Manila offers extensive transport, shopping and nightlife but can be crowded, whereas island locations provide a slower pace, beaches and outdoor activities. Foreign nationals must obtain the correct visa or work authorization before employment; internships may require an approved training or special work arrangement, and a tourist visa is not sufficient. Employers or schools often assist with documentation. Applicants should confirm visa rules, accommodation, insurance and living costs before relocating.
