The Assistant Director of Sales – China Market supports Fairmont Singapore’s commercial strategy by developing business from China, managing key accounts, building relationships with travel agencies, corporate clients and partners, and achieving room-night and revenue targets. Candidates are generally expected to have several years of hotel sales experience, preferably within the luxury or international hospitality sector, with strong knowledge of the Chinese market. Fluency in English and Mandarin is highly advantageous. The role requires excellent negotiation, communication, presentation and networking skills, as well as familiarity with China-focused distribution channels, trade events and market trends. The successful candidate should be commercially driven, well organised, proactive, culturally aware and willing to travel when required.
Fairmont Singapore is a luxury hotel operated by Accor, one of the world’s leading hospitality groups. Located in the heart of Singapore at Raffles City, the hotel offers premium accommodation, restaurants and bars, meeting and event facilities, and extensive wellness services. Fairmont is known for combining classic hospitality with locally inspired experiences and personalised guest service. Fairmont Singapore serves leisure travellers, business guests, groups and international events, making sales and commercial roles particularly important to its continued performance. As part of Accor, employees may benefit from international career opportunities, learning programmes, staff rates and exposure to a broad portfolio of hotel brands. The property works with corporate clients, tour operators, airlines, meeting planners and overseas markets, including China, to strengthen demand and deliver a high-quality luxury guest experience.
Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare and international business. Its multicultural population includes Chinese, Malay, Indian and expatriate communities, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. The lifestyle is safe, convenient and urban, with excellent public transport, modern shopping areas, diverse food, parks and easy access to regional destinations. Housing and daily expenses can be high, especially in central areas, so salary and employer benefits should be considered carefully. Foreign professionals generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass, and the employer normally submits the application. Approval depends on salary, qualifications, experience and current government criteria. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, healthcare coverage, banking and tax registration, and confirm whether relocation assistance is included in the employment package.
