The Executive Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in leading hotel operations, guest experience, financial performance and team engagement at Sofitel Adelaide. Requirements typically include substantial experience in hotel operations or a senior rooms or food and beverage leadership role, strong commercial and financial understanding, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multicultural teams. Candidates are expected to be visible and guest-focused, commercially minded, organised and confident in making operational decisions. Knowledge of luxury hospitality standards, workplace health and safety, compliance and performance management is important. Experience with Accor systems and a relevant hospitality qualification would be advantageous.
Sofitel Adelaide is a luxury five-star hotel operated under Sofitel, Accor’s French-inspired luxury hospitality brand. Located in central Adelaide, the hotel offers premium accommodation, dining, meetings and events, combining local South Australian character with Sofitel’s emphasis on elegant design, personalised service and French art de vivre. As part of Accor, one of the world’s largest hospitality groups, Sofitel Adelaide provides access to international career opportunities, employee benefits and learning programs. The hotel serves business travellers, leisure guests, conference delegates and special-event customers. Its leadership team is responsible for delivering strong guest satisfaction, commercial results, responsible operations and a positive workplace culture. The Executive Assistant Manager is therefore likely to work closely with department heads and the General Manager across the full hotel operation.
Australia offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, events and tourism, particularly in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and regional destinations. The culture is generally informal, multicultural and focused on work-life balance, while hospitality employers value reliability, safety, teamwork and confident guest service. Adelaide provides a relaxed lifestyle, good restaurants, festivals, wineries and relatively manageable living costs compared with Sydney or Melbourne, although housing costs are rising. Australia has warm summers, varied regional climates and excellent outdoor activities. Overseas applicants need an appropriate visa: employer-sponsored options may include the Skills in Demand visa, while eligible younger applicants can consider a Working Holiday visa. Senior candidates should check occupation lists, sponsorship eligibility, English requirements and skills assessments. Plan for health insurance, accommodation, tax registration, superannuation and evidence of qualifications. Costs and visa rules change, so confirm details through the Australian Department of Home Affairs before relocating.
