Working in United Arab Emirates

Although the United Arab Emirates is not an island nation, Dubai offers a coastal lifestyle with beaches, resorts, shopping, dining and extensive entertainment. Hospitality, wellness, tourism, aviation, retail and business services provide many employment opportunities, particularly for multilingual and experienced professionals. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international community; modest dress and respectful behavior are expected in public and workplaces. Dubai is modern, convenient and generally safe, but accommodation and leisure costs can be high. Employers normally arrange an employment visa, work permit, medical examination and Emirates ID after hiring; working legally requires employer sponsorship or another valid residence status. Confirm benefits such as accommodation, transport, meals, insurance, annual leave and flights before accepting an offer. New arrivals should budget for deposits, transport and initial living expenses.
