The Plumber is responsible for installing, inspecting, repairing and maintaining plumbing systems throughout Fairmont The Palm. Requirements typically include relevant plumbing experience, preferably in a hotel or resort environment; practical knowledge of water supply, drainage, hot-water and firefighting-related systems; and the ability to read basic technical drawings. Candidates should understand health and safety procedures, respond promptly to maintenance requests, identify faults accurately and complete work to a high standard. The role requires physical fitness, attention to detail, reliable teamwork and a guest-focused attitude. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays is expected, along with good communication skills and a relevant technical qualification or trade certification.
Fairmont The Palm is a luxury beachfront resort located on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah and operated under Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, part of Accor. The property offers upscale accommodation, restaurants, bars, conference facilities, pools, a private beach and extensive leisure and wellness services. It serves international leisure travellers, families, business guests and event clients. Fairmont is known for combining distinctive local experiences with attentive service, elegant surroundings and strong operational standards. Employees typically work in a multicultural hospitality environment with structured procedures, guest-service expectations and opportunities to develop within Accor’s global hotel network. Engineering colleagues play an important role in maintaining the resort’s guest rooms, public areas, kitchens and technical infrastructure safely, efficiently and reliably.
The United Arab Emirates is not an island, although Dubai includes the man-made Palm Jumeirah, where Fairmont The Palm is located. The country offers extensive opportunities in hospitality, tourism, construction, retail, aviation, healthcare and technology, particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Life is modern, international and fast-paced, with excellent transport, shopping, beaches and outdoor activities. Emirati culture values hospitality, family, modesty and respect for Islamic traditions; alcohol is regulated and local laws should be observed. Most expatriate employees need an employer-sponsored residence visa and work permit, with medical checks and Emirates ID registration. Employers may provide accommodation, transport, meals and health insurance, but this should be confirmed before accepting an offer. Dubai is convenient but relatively expensive, especially for private housing. New arrivals should budget for deposits, understand contract terms and verify recruitment arrangements through official channels.
