Candidates should have hospitality or customer-service experience, strong communication skills and a professional, well-presented manner. The role requires availability for the 4:30pm–12:30am roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays. Reliability, teamwork, attention to detail and the ability to remain calm during busy periods are important. Responsible Service of Alcohol and food-safety training may be required, depending on duties.
Qantas Lounges by Accor is a partnership combining Qantas’s premium airport hospitality experience with Accor’s international hotel and guest-service expertise. The lounges provide comfortable spaces for eligible travellers, offering dining, beverages, work facilities, relaxation areas and attentive service before flights. The Brisbane Airport operation supports domestic and international passengers and relies on teams across food and beverage, culinary services, cleaning, guest relations and lounge operations. Accor is one of the world’s major hospitality groups, operating hotels, resorts and serviced properties across numerous brands and countries. Employees are generally expected to deliver warm, consistent service while meeting high standards for presentation, hygiene, safety and efficiency. The workplace can be fast-paced, particularly around flight schedules, and offers hospitality experience in a distinctive airport environment.
Australia offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, restaurants, airports, resorts, cafés and tourism businesses, with particularly strong demand in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Queensland’s coastal destinations and regional tourist areas. The culture is generally informal, multicultural and workplace-focused, with emphasis on punctuality, teamwork, safety and friendly customer service. Lifestyle varies from busy city living to relaxed coastal or regional communities, with outdoor activities, beaches and national parks widely accessible. Most overseas workers need a suitable visa, such as a Working Holiday visa, employer-sponsored visa or student visa with work rights. Visa conditions, age limits and permitted working hours differ, so applicants should check the Australian Department of Home Affairs before travelling. Relocation costs can be substantial, especially for accommodation and transport. Brisbane has a warm subtropical climate and good public transport, while airport roles may require late-night travel planning.
