Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, although Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah is a man-made island and a major hospitality destination. The country offers strong opportunities in luxury hotels, restaurants, tourism, aviation, events, retail, and wellness, particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Life is modern, international, and convenient, with excellent shopping, dining, beaches, desert activities, and public infrastructure. UAE culture combines local Emirati traditions with a large expatriate community; respectful dress and behavior, especially during Ramadan, are important. Most overseas employees need employer-sponsored residence and work visas, with the company usually arranging medical checks, Emirates ID, and labor documentation. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, flights, gratuity, probation terms, and working hours before accepting an offer. Costs can be high, especially for housing, but many resort roles provide accommodation or allowances and staff benefits.
