Responsibilities typically include managing corporate, leisure, wholesale and travel-trade accounts; generating new business; maintaining client relationships; conducting property presentations and sales calls; preparing forecasts and reports; and working closely with revenue, marketing and operations teams. Candidates are expected to have several years of hotel sales experience, strong knowledge of the Bangkok and wider Thailand markets, an established business network, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and proficiency in English. Thai language ability, resort or luxury-hospitality experience, leadership capability and willingness to travel are likely advantages. The successful candidate should be commercially minded, target driven, well organised and able to represent the resort professionally.

About the employer

Mercure Rayong Lomtalay Villas & Resort is an Accor-affiliated resort in Rayong, on Thailand’s eastern coast. The property is positioned around a relaxed seaside experience, combining villa-style accommodation with resort facilities, dining and leisure activities. Its location offers access to beaches, coastal attractions and destinations such as Koh Samet, while remaining within reach of Bangkok for business and domestic travel connections. Mercure is Accor’s internationally recognised midscale hospitality brand, known for combining local character with consistent service standards, comfortable accommodation and practical facilities for leisure and business guests. As part of Accor, the resort benefits from global distribution, sales support, loyalty-programme exposure and professional development opportunities. This sales position would contribute to increasing the resort’s market presence, building partnerships and driving room, group and event revenue from Bangkok and other important source markets.

Working in Thailand

Thailand offers strong opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism sales, wellness, diving and marine activities, especially in Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, Pattaya and Rayong. Hospitality work is relationship driven, and speaking Thai plus English is highly valuable; additional languages can improve prospects. Life on the islands is generally relaxed, outdoors focused and community oriented, with beaches, seafood, markets and festivals central to daily culture. Living costs vary: Phuket and Koh Samui are relatively expensive, while Rayong and smaller islands can be more affordable. Foreign employees normally need a Thai employer, a Non-Immigrant B visa and a work permit before legally starting work. Employers often assist with documentation, though requirements should be confirmed with Thai authorities. Relocating staff should budget for deposits, insurance, transport and seasonal housing costs. Bangkok-based sales roles may involve frequent travel to coastal resorts and major tourism markets.
